Half Marathon Walk

Our team of volunteers walked 13 miles (half marathon) along the Dollis Valley Greenwalk on Saturday 25 October 2014 and raised over £27,000 for our new Mentoring Project for vulnerable young refugees. The project provides mentors for young people in education struggling to settle into the UK.

Young refugees who enter the UK as a minor face a series of obstacles: language barriers, lack of social support, a long period of uncertainty while they are waiting for their immigration status to be decided. As a result, they suffer social exclusion and become disaffected with their life in the UK. Hope for the Young aims to help these young people overcome these obstacles and succeed in their education.
