Matt, our Mentoring Project Manager ran his first ever Vitality Brighton Half Marathon last week to raise money for Hope for the Young!
To start the year on a high, Hope for the Young is holding a raffle to help raise funds directly for our UK projects. We would love to give you the chance to win some amazing prizes for just £1 a ticket!
Our team of volunteers walked 13 miles (half marathon) along the Dollis Valley Greenwalk on Saturday 25 October 2014 to raise over £23,950 for our new Volunteer Support Project for vulnerable young refugees. The project provides mentors for young people in education struggling to settle into the UK.
The event took place at Soho Theatre on Sunday 24 February and raised £3000 on the evening that will help Hope for the Young provide peer mentors, financial, educational and psychological support for disadvantaged children in India and vulnerable unaccompanied young refugees in the UK, giving them the chance to transform their lives. Omid means hope in Persian.
Our two volunteers are back, alive and very sore! The strong rains in Western Nepal left these two adventurers with little option but to embark on the bold trek on the other side of the Tibetan border in Ladakh, Northern India.
